Why Interview Training

You never get a second chance for a first impression

Most of us experience some form of apprehension coming up to an interview.  It’s an artificial environment at the very least.  We are in a room or on a screen with, for the most part, strangers.  We want them to like us.  We want to demonstrate that we can do the job for which we are interviewing.  We want them to choose us over other candidates.

What will it take for you to be successful in your interview?

The job interview process can be lengthy.  Many companies have an involved interview process starting with screening interviews, aptitude testing, followed by online/in-person interviews, s econd and even, third interviews.

I use the  3 x ‘P’s approach to interview preparation.

  • Plan.
  • Prepare.
  • Practice.

Plan

Research the company/organization
What are their Values/Ethos/Vision?
Be very familiar with the Job Description.
What is your understanding of the role?
Identify your strengths to match with the needs of the role?
What are the needs/responsibilities of the role?
Be very familiar with your CV

Prepare

Write your answers to possible questions
Reduce to concise, nuanced answers
Write. Write. Write.  Edit. Edit. Edit.

Practice

Practice reading your answers out loud
Listen for “rise and fall” in your delivery while developing a flow in your answers
During the Interview training session, we will look at your body language and your delivery
We will take note of personal appearance and, will also focus on building your confidence and self-belief

Examples of interview questions

Why are you applying for the role?
What qualities and strengths will you bring to the role?
How will you ease the employer’s pain point?
